Hampshire Macmillan Citizens Advice Service (HMCAS) caseworkers are all currently working from home providing our Service in the best way we can for our normal core hours of 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Please send us any referrals or ask clients to contact us if they are affected by cancer and are living in or being treated in Hampshire.
We have extended our telephone helpline for cancer clients and their families Monday – Friday 9am – 4pm
Clients will be able to speak directly to a caseworker, where they may be helped straight away or be referred to another caseworker who is not monitoring the phone line.
We can be contacted by telephone on 0344 847 7727. There is a message service for out of hours or if the lines are busy.
We also have an email account available for any referrals to our Service macmillan.cahampshire@cabnet.org.uk
This service provides a consistent, targeted and holistic advice service for people affected by cancer who are resident in or being treated in Hampshire, including Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
A team of caseworkers and support workers provide specialist advice and casework face-to-face, through a telephone helpline and via email/letters.
HMCAS is celebrating a successful ten years of service to Hampshire residents. It has been an incredible ten years for HMCAS. We have grown so much as a Service including opening new outreaches and joining up with the Isle of Wight.
Since we started in 2009 we have helped more than 22,000 clients achieve over an incredible £56
million in increased income over the past ten years. In the last year we had an increase of over 12% in the number of clients helped and secured financial gains for clients of over £9.4m.
Results from our survey of professional medical staff evidenced that our service is a vital link between nurses and patients with an average of 2.5 hours per patient saved in time by professional staff.
Our team work very closely with professional staff at our outreaches in the many hospitals and hospices throughout Hampshire. We can be easily found in the Macmillan Centres inside the hospitals for an appointment or drop-in. We are able to see clients in their own homes, in wards and at outreaches or our offices.
We have outreaches in the following locations:
